Life begins at retirement ONE OF THE hardworking volunteers for the Terrace Beautification Society is retiring this week to enjoy a life of fishing and mushroom picking. | Howard Chafin is begin- ning a new chapter of his life. As of June 1 he retires from BC Hydro, Howard worked as a lines men in the US for 19 years until he moved to Canada in July, 1975. He first worked on the construction crew for _ BC Hydro, then was the live line training instructor for the Northwest. In 1977 Howard bid on a job in Terrace for a foreman’s position and got it. Now he leaves the com- pany after 21 years. Howard has no regrets about leaving a job where he works out in the elements all winter long, particulariy after the harsh winter we had this year. Now winter months will be ‘spend reading, and join- ing the gym with his wife Judy and taking line dancing lessons. She just contacted him in November, 1994, He’s looking forward to his reunion with her and mecling tis four grand- children.
