June 8, 1987 /160 A letter was received from Mr. and Mrs. De Santis stating their concerns regarding increases in taxes, increased traffic and an increase in crime for a higher density area. The following people were present at the Zoning Public Hearing and expressed their views on Bylaws 2272 and 22735. Ms. Laura Hammond, 2340 Lobb Avenue was concerned with the traffic in the area with so many young children, and how many units would be built. The Director of Community Planning informed Ms. Hammond that there would be 33 units and about 45 units. Ms. Carol Nick, 2337 Lobb Avenue who felt the address should be on Lobb Avenue, and asked if Shaughnessy would go further South. The Director of Community Planning informed Ms. Nick that eventually Shaughnessy Street will continue South. BL/03/87/06/08/09 Bylaw No. 2273 To rezone Proposed Lot 1 as shown on a Topographical Plan of a Portion of Block "A", District Lots 174 and 289, Group 1, Plan 5917, New Westminster District, prepared by V.C. Goudal and Associates, British Columbia Land Surveyor, bearing Drawing Number C-3840-87 and dated February 23rd, 1987. from A-1 (Agricultural) to RM-3 (Town House Apartment) . The property is located at 2352 Pitt River Road and would permit the construction of a townhouse development on the property. Ms. LaRose, 1972 Shaughnessy Street inquired as to where access To the property would be from Lobb or Shaughnessy, the affect the new construction on property values and traffic in the area. The Director of Community Planning informed Ms. LaRose that access would be from Lobo Avenue, BL/04/87/06/08/ 13 Bylaw No. 2274 \ To rezone Lot 1 (containing 8.498 ha) as shown on a proposed subdivision plan of Lot 83 and a portion of Lot 84f of District Lots 379, 464, and 463, Group One, Plan 47652 prepared by D.G. Fenning, B.C.L.S. from M-2 (Heavy Industrial) to C-2 (Neighbourhood Commercial). The property is addressed as 2088 Lougheed Highway (Southeast corner of the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Shaughnessy Street and would permit the construction of a retail commercial development on the property. A presentation was made by the Developer of the proposed development. Ms. Laura Hammond, 2340. Lobb Avenue expressed her concerns regarding the congestion of traffic around the traffic lights, Lions Park and the underpass. The Developer of the proposed project said that the widening of Shaughnessy Street will help this problem. rar
