SUBJECT: Development Services Agreement
Greater Vancouver Regional District

RECOMMENDATION: That the City of Port Coquitiam continue to

subscribe to the Development Services offered by
Greater Vancouver Regional District.

COMMENTS:

1. During this past year the G.V.R.D. Development Services Department
(Ptanning Department) has redirected Its efforts to providing
information services and helping municipalities.

Services and projects that Port Coquitlam has obtained from
G.V.R.D. this year Include:

Technical Memorandums about population growth, development
trends, employment and mantpulation of Statistics Canada Census
information. ‘

G.V.R.D. - Ministry of Industry and Small Business study of
industry in the lower mainland. That study is the basis for the
City's work in the area of industrial promotion.

Zoning Reports about regulations and techniques used to govern
development. A major report about parking requirements for
various uses Imposed by 4 number of muntctpalities was prepared

early this year.

Retail Development Potential Seminar about retail development
+rends and growth potential in the tower mainiand.

Transportation Model is being developed for use by Engineering
Departments:

Library and Case Precedent search services by G.V.R.D.
Development Services Library has been used extensively.
