We the undersigned Buisness men petition the City of Port Coquitlam,

for the immediale removal of the old Royal Bank Building at Elgin &

Shaughnessy Street. The reasons are as follows:

1. Access ~ To improve traffic flow to and from the downtown area and
to open up the parking facility at Kingsway and Maple St.
to potential shoppers.

2. Development - Outside interests would look more favourably at this

area if the street were up to standard.
3. Safety - The intersection at Elgin and Shaughnessy fs a hazard to
both pedestrians and car traffic, and is the scene of fre.

We feel that a further improvement could be made by widening the lane
between McAllister and Kingsway east of Shaughnessy Street as it is

congested by rush hour traffic at peak periods,
