Mcved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That as recommendeu in a report from the Public Works Committee, September 25th, 1975, a passenger loading and unloading zone for tho Simon Fraser Health Unit be established on the South side of Wilson Avenue from a point 90 feet West of the West side of Donald Street for a distance of 50 feet West. From the Public Works Committee, September 26th, 1975, advising that recent improvements on Salisbury Avenue West of Coast Meridian Road have necessitated a STOP sign installation on Salisbury Avenue at the West side of Coast Meridian Road. In speaking to the Report, Alderman Ranger suggested that a STOP sign also be installed on the North-east corner of Salisbury Avenue and to this the Council generally agreed. Carried. From the Health Committee, September 26th, 1975, advising of a meeting with Mrs. Joan Idler, Mr. Murray Martin, and Dr. E. Haggerty of the Alcohol and Drug Commission and Dr. R. Metler and Mr. Gerry Moore concerning the Commission's proposal to take over the entire funding of PoCo House as outlined in a letter dated August 12th, 1975. Alderman Keryluk reviewed the problems experienced by the City over the past year in the operation of PoCo House through lack of liaison with the staff and other related agencies in the Community and lack of expertise and proper direction in wdnagement; and he also reviewed the proposals and objectives of the Alcohol and Drug Commission with respect to the proposed takeover of PoCo House.
