NEW BUSINESS: Mayor Campbell re His Worship the Mayor then advised of a petition received containing re-routing May Day parade past the signatures of approximately 500 persons requesting to have the May Hawthorne Lodge & Manor Day parade re-routed so that it will pass in front of Hawthorne Lodge and Hawthorne Manor, thus providing the senior citizens, particularly those who are non-ambulatory, with an opportunity of viewing it. Alderman Traboulay recommended that the request be considered by the May Day Committee; however, due to the lateness in time, Mayor Campbell referred the matter to Alderman Mabbett, Cbairman of the Leisure Activities Committee, to determine whether or not it would be possible to re-route the parade as suggested. Alderman Traboulay From the City Clerk, May 26th, 1975, advising that Alderman Traboulay re Smokeless er units intends to raise the subject of Smokeless Burners under "New Business" Burner at the meeting this evening, and that Mr. Vic Hurtubise will be in attendance with respect thereto. Alderman Traboulay then spoke to the subject of "smokeless burners", mentioning that such a unit is operated by Mr. Vic Hurtubise, and stated Mr. Hurbubise advised he would be quite willing to accompany those members of Council and senior staff to the City of Bellingham to view a non-portable type. Alderman Traboulay advised that Mr. Hurtubise had provided him with photographs of smokeless burner units and stated he would advise members of Council within two weeks whether or not arrangements can be made for the proposed trip to Bellingham. Ald. Thompson - Alderman Thompson referred to the letter proposed to be sent to letter to parents re Curfew parents regarding the Curfew, and suggested that where it states that “unless it is unavoidable all persons of the apparent age of 15 years or less must not be on the streets after 11:00 p-m., that this should be followed by the words "and before 6:00 a.m."; and referring to where it
