The City. . Administrator advised that Department Heads may not at all times be aware . of exactly where items are purchased; however, where possible, purchases are made from local firms... Alderman. Thompson inquired whether or not the City's Purchasing Agent. has time to obtain comparable costs, and the City Adminis~~ trator advised he. probably would; although there is always the problem of emergency purchases, particularly in-the case-of the Recreation Department ‘over weekends.
