Barricades blocking vehicle
access to the beach area of Ferry
Island aren’t going to be moved.

‘The barricades were put in place
following complaints from Public
Health officials that recreational
vehicles dumping holding tanks on
or near the beach- were creating a
health hazard.

beach, however, and that may help
to improve access to. the. area.
Superintendent of Parks and Recre-
ation Steve Scott told the Com-
munity and Recreation Services
Committee last week that there
have been complaints due to the
placement of the barricades, but
there have been positive comments
as well.
