With their attitude and ability we are sure they will all have successful futures. The girls thanked Alderman Talstra for the pins, said they had enjoyed working in Terrace and felt very op- timistic about the future of recreation here. TheO.A.P, Association are busy making plans for ac- tivities during Senior _ Citizen’s Week planned for the end of September. These include a ‘‘Sod-turning"’ ceremony on the proposed site of their ‘‘Drop-in”’ centre, a display of antiques and artifacts loaned by Terrace’s Senior Citizens with a Pancake breakfast and tag day to help start off their Fund raising. Details will be published later but for any one who would like to help, the association is open to all who would like to join (Age is not a requirement.) Quy federal member Iona Campagnolo was guest al an informal gathering of local constituents in the Loibby of ‘the Lee Theatre on Friday evening. Between 50 and 60 people attended and Jona spoke on matters ranging from federal, through provincial to local concerns and answered some per- tinent questions during a lively discussion period. As a sideline to the meeting, some interesting local residents were present. Mrs. Kaiser who contributed well during the discussion period, told us of her proposed trip to San Fran- eisco and talked of her in- terest in hummingbirds and other migrant birds in our area, Mrs, Lily Nielson, who was also a vocal emmber of the meeting informed us that she intends to run in the up- coming by-election for ‘Council in November. It’s good to hear, a_ healthy community should have lots of people willing to work on its behalf, so lets hear from more (0o8f you. Mrs. Marion Robertson talked of the — “behind the scenes wark't that has been done in preparation for next weeks visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Approximatley 250 delegates will be at- tending as well as other interested people throughout eh Diocese and beyond. Most of the people attending will be billeted and the luncheons Saturday and Sunday provided by the church and as usual Terrace residents ‘their visit one they will long year, so {ets all help to make rmember. Former residents of Ab- botsford, Lorne is the Manager of the new Skeena Mall complex, and both he and wife Mona are looking forward to their new life in Terrace. Welcome! It provoked some interesting comments and discussion regarding the progress (or tack of it) of recreation in Terrace.
