GENERAL MEETING A.PF.C.B CELEBRATES ITS 15TH ANNIVERSARY! On that Friday night, the meeting started in a real atmosphere of celebrations. The guests of honour took few minutes to emphasize the work done by the Association, followed by a historical presentation on the evolution of the Francophone education in British Columbia. O nlast October 20, 21 and 22 parents, students and teachers of Programme cadre metto celebrate the 1 5th anniversary of the Association des parents Franco- phones de la Colombie-Britannique. It was a special event for the Annual Congress of the Association. Three major partners in Francophone education ( parents, teachers and students) particip-ated and expressed their concerns and their solutions regarding the Francophone governance. They also shared their ideas about what a young Francophone student of the 21st century would be like. On Friday night, the meeting started in a real atmosphere of celebrations. The guests of honour took few minutes to emphasize the work done by the Association, followed by a historical presentation on the evolution of the Francophone education in British Columbia by Héléne Hudon et Lorraine Fortin. It was a good occasion to put to the test the knowledge of the participants on the subject. They were able to answer all the questions, thanks to the “Brochure Souvenir” of the Association presented the same night where all the answers could be found. The celebrations went on with laughter and music. Several humorous sketches were performed by Robert Gauvin and Marco Roy whose talent was very appreciated. They made akilling and the participants laughed till they cried. There was also a previous graduate of Programme cadre from Prince George, Patrick Filion who was the singer invited for the occasion. He sang French songs for the pleasure ofall. Patrick sings also in English under the name of Alexis. During the afternoon the participants had an occasion to use their imagination. They drew the portrait of the Year 2000 Young Francophone: bilingual, proud, On Saturday information and ideas were exchanged on school governance. During the evening the Congress participants were invited for a diner organized by francophones de Colombie-Britannique, on the occasion of its 50 Anniversary. To conclude the evening a short play on the history of Francophone in B.C. was performed. Finally on Sunday, the Annual General Meeting took place with about thirty parents attending.
