Data will be collected through:

Federai, provincial, regional and local government sources (census, population
forecasts etc.)

a series of person to person interviews with a variety of stakeholders involved in the
provision of child care in the area. This will include care givers, public health
nurses, school board staff, licensing officers, municipal staff, Ministry of Social
. Services staff, member of the area's multicultural community and Douglas College
ECE faculty.

a mail survey to households in the area to assess community support and need
(notice of study and surveys will be placed in local newspapers)

a mail survey to area employers

Letters of support with resolutions from the various Councils represented in District
#43 are attached to this proposal. Local Councils are also offering financial support to
the Committee and those contracted to undertake the study for up to 20% of the grant
value by contributions of “in kind" services or resources (preparation of Terms of
Reference, consultant selection, typing, meeting space, photocopying)
