Carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: From the Planning & Zoning Committee, August 3rd, 1977, being a report concerning applications for Neighbourhood Pub Licences at 3261, 3274, and 3381 Coast Meridian Road, that was deferred at the August 8th, 1977 Council meeting for consideration at this time. Mayor Campbell vacated the Chair and left the Council Chamber at 7:32 p.m., after stating his concern that being a mortgage holder of the Golden Ears Hotel may constitute a conflict of interest, and Acting- Mayor Alderman Mabbett assumed the Chair in his place. The applicants for Neighbourhood Pub licences at 3261, 3274, and 3381 Coast Meridian Road were then each afforded an opportunity to make presentations in support thereof, and Alderman Laking, Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Committee, explained that the Committee favoured the location at 3261 Coast Meridian Road because adequate parking could be provided and because access thereto would not infringe upon the adjacent residential area in any way; however, Alderman Thompson stated he favoured the 3274 site because: only one sidewall would be next to a store, the exterior design could be changed; and because the parking and access are comparable to that available at the 3261 location. Alderman Traboulay etated he favoured the 3261 site and Alderman Mabbett agreed, particulariy in view of the access thereto being safer and more convenient. Alderman Keryluk stated that although he preferred the site at 3381 Coast Meridian Road (rendered ineligible for consideration due to the Council's previous Minutes - Aug.22/77 ' 1 ! Plan.& Zon.
