Re: South Side Supply Nain

With reference to the report of the Public Works Committee dated April 26tn, 1974;

we wish to advise that at the regular Council meeting of April 29th, 1974, the following

resolution was passed:

“That as recommended:in a report from the Public Works Committee, April 26th, 1974,

the following tenders received fro the installation of the South Side Supply Main:

1. Standard General, Construction. ..cecccsscesocaee $ 153,690.00

2. H.B. Contracting Ltd.ssccccccccnecscsevssvecees $ 214,946.00
-be rejected because:
l. The location of the supply main is in doubt,

2. The tenders are substantially over previous estimates;

AND TUAT .the City Engineer report on the location problem that has developéd as soon
as further ingormation is available and on the feasibility and implications of installing

the water supply main with City crews.”

Attached are copies of letters we have this day written to the two Contractors

involved and to the Consultants, Dayton & Knight.
