Grae Isdand Vanctuver. BC, Comada (Wii eas Ve RT GALLERY = eat, | April has proved a good month for the Gallery. Sales are well up on March and noticably better than the same period last year. It is proving a useful teaching gallery, potters, students and the public spend time studying the exhibitions and pottery displays. Opening nights are well attended and thanks go to Cherie Markiewicz for arranging interesting shows. To make the most of limited “shop space" the displays are changed regularly to give gallery potters equal coverage. There is now a Selection Committee, call or come into the Gallery for a list of instructions, you must be a member of the Guild. New potters are David Walmsley and Meg Buckley. Guild members not selling in the Gallery may send a set of 3 slides with a biography for the résource registry. The Board has resolved that ootters selling in the Gallery must be paid up mempers oF the Potters Guild of B.C., so of your work is not on display get out vour cheque book, please! The Public Market commences summer hours on May 25 so from then on the Gallery will be open seven days a week, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. until) Labour Day weekend. Qpen also on Monday, May 18. Potters Survival Manual by Guild members Ellen Zeiss and Rhonda Green (Past President); Potter's Wheel Projects and Brush Decoration - two CM handbooks; and also a number of issues of Vanguard, Ceramics Monthly and Ceramic Review. The library collection is available for borrowing to all members in good standing, three books and three perlodicals at a time for one month, meeting to meeting. lf you cannot attend when books are due, reasonable allowances are mide, Also materials can be returned to the Book Return Box im the Guild Lounge.
