The city of Vancouver has its own police force and qualified judges to enforce the laws of general applica+ tion, city laws and bylaws and provincial laws, both - civil and criminal. This is an oplion available 1o every city. The Nisga’a have chosen this, as it is their right. The only difference in their charter is the adoption laws, which will more accurately reflect their ancient customs. Perhaps he’s under the impression that the peoples of the Nass are not - his constituents. . And now (if last week’ s Standard is to be believed) Mike wants to have the fed- eral Reform caucus and “communications”? opera- tives organize. a province- wide poll to elicit support (be hopes) for his call.for a referendum on the Nisga’a accord, Three guesses who will end up paying for not | only Mike’s pension, but the poll.
