That’s because those taking part in the Men's Open practice round will find they have a choice of seven pins when they take aim at ihe 2nd green. - And any golfer who. achieves the feal will find himself flying, literally. Ross said this is the first time in seven years the Open has had to set up a waiting list. While the entry includes golfers from the Queen Charlottes to Smithers, he credited strong local support for the high number. “The course is probably in the best shape of any in the north,’” Ross added, Although the original cut-off. for entries was 108 players, Car- ruthers said the response has organizers trying to find a way to lift that figure to 120.
