Alderman Ranger stated he felt he had raised a valid point ‘that still required an answer, and that he did not think $2,500.00 was sufficient to do the work proposed. The City Engineer advised that quotations had been received and that the work was estimated - tO cost approximately $2,400.00. From the City Administrator, February 8th, 1974 advising, in regard — to a review of fire service, that the Canadian Underwriters Association do ‘| periodic inspections and reviews of fire defences in municipalities for their member insurance companies which become the basis for establishing fire _ insurance rates, and that asa Tesult of discussions wi with Coqui tian on joint fire protection. the Underwriters were contacted and it was “suggested a review _ be carried out to bring their records up-to date. “the City Administrator, in his report, advis sed there Ais no cost attached to this type of study as it is carried out mainly for the information of insurance companies ; however, the review does provide certain valuable ‘information for the city as they look at the water, distribution ‘system as well ‘as the structure of the fire depart- ment, manpower, fire hall location, etc., and mentioned that the Association ~ could carry out this study in the fall of this year.
