Municipal Representation At Cpening and 20th Anniversary Pormalities

An opening ceremony for the White Pine Beach development at Sasamat Lake is
a major event for GVRD Parks. f recommend that all members attend this
ceremony on (7), June at 2:00 p.m. The Park Committee is also exploring ways
of invelving mmicipalities in activities of a competitive nature. I am
asking for your ideas and suggestions.

Parks and Recreation Brochures

To ensure there is region-wide coverage of the 20th Anniversary Program, I
vequest allocation of one page, if at all possible, in our Summer Parks and
Recreation Brochure as per the attached information. There would he neo
charge to Regional Parks for this page. A smaller space would be
appreciated if other commitments Simply do not permit an entire page.

Region-Wide Recreation Pass

The Park Committee requests that GVRD Parks member muicipalities offer as
&@ prize a region-wide season’s pass to recreation and cultural facilities.
It is proposed that up to 60 family passes be awarded at special events
throughout the 1987 season. The pass would not be sold. It would be valid
for one year from the date of issue.

The pass would allow free entry to some local facilities in the Lower
Mainland. The pass would not apply to programs of any kind. The GVRD Park
Committee recognizes that Gach municipality has different recreaticnal
facilities under its jurisdiction and relies on our judgement to choose the
facilities which would be included in the Region-wide Recreation Pass.
