During venl U.U.C.M. Executive aceting, correspondence was
received from the Altarney-General's office advising that on June
o-6-7th, wu Conference on Juvenile Crime Prevention vould be held in
either Cranbrook or Kimberley, sponsored by the B.C. Association of
Justice Counciis. .

A copy of the relevant letter is attached for your information.

The U.ULC.O. Laccutive felt that in order for a gocd cross-secliun of
municipul/regional district elected officials te attend, in accordance
vil’. the correspondence, it vould be useful if each of the five Area
Associations canvassed their members and undertook to send 10 delegates,
which would fill the $0 which Ube Attorney-General 's Ministry would like
to have in attendance fram local govermments. You will see that ot leust
sume of the costs (accomaodation and meals) will be funded,

Ine U.8.C.M. Office has been instructed to coordinate the attendance of
the 50 proposed delegates (10 from each Area Assuciation) and it would
be appreciated if you could advise us of your appointees at your conven-
dence so thut ve can advise the Attorney-Genevsl's Ministry.

As mere specific information as to programme and specific location be-
comes avuiluble ve shall pass it through to you.

sponsored Sympos |ums on various justice concerns, This year, because

of the salience of crime invalving juveniies, the Assaciat lon has chosen
Juvenite Crime Prevention as its Conference theme. Tne burpase of this
event Is to see a working Conference involving professional resource v
beopie who are active In the crime prevention area, providing information
and Tools to organizations representing a broad community base. The
major objective ts to provide delegates and other interested feople with
