” THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM G t t \ C MEMORANDUM JUL 9 1979 Mayor and Council , DATE: July 5th, 1979 F.E, Peters, P. Eng. City Engineer RE: Purchase of ‘Survey Van As shown on the attached recap sheet, four tenders were received for the 1/2 ton chassis van to replace the survey van which is rusted out. The two lowest tenders were from Westminster Chev-Olds, one for a 1980 vehicle which will not be available t111 the end of October, and a 1979 vehicle which is available now but which is more expensive because it has several extra options which were not included in our specifications. These include power steering and V8 engine. In view of the long delay before the 1980 unit is available, I recommend the purchase of the 1979 unit from Westminster Chev-Olds at .a total cost including paint and undercoat of $7,115.57. This is below the $7,500 which Council allocated from the equipment reserve. The alternative would be to order the 1980 model and to rent a van to use in the meantime. This solution would be more expensive in the long run and is not recommended. Respectfplly submitted, F.E. Peters, Pl Eng. City Engineer FEP/alg attachment Ae ed di wesise. Tt
