DEC 12 1977 Mayor and Council — ‘" December 2nd, 1977 Environmental Protection Committee Re: Dog Control By-law Amendment As Council is aware, there is an amendment to the Animal Control By~law and the Health By-law in progress that would reduce the number cf dogs permitted in a household te a maximum without being subject to a kennel licence. The Committee has no idea how many people would be affected by the change in the By-law, however the Committee is concerned that perhaps some length of time should be given for people to become aware of the By~law and take the necessary steps to comply with the By-law. The Committee therefore recommends that the By-law be adequately advertised and that it not come into effect until June Ist. . ; . , Lf Council agrees with the deferred implementation of this By-law, the Clerk will prepare the necessary amendments so that the effective date of June lst can be included.
