REPORT TO: Members of Council FROM: Mayor J.M. Campbell Re: July 2nd, 1975 Repgional, District Meeting ~ Rejected application for extension of mobile homes iin Anmore Park. ™, ~ Tahled the Dunhill project at Riverview end the mobile park on the eo ee a Coquitlam River. ~ A motion from the City of Vancouver for a Regional Dog Control By-law was defeated this time but I do believe that it should be thought of in the future. This included a Regional spaying and neutering clinic. Mayor Tom Reid's effort to abolish the Executive Committee was defeated but Chairman Kelly said that he would give more attention to changing the personnel on this Committee each year. A lot near Sasamat Lake is to be expropriated. . TI voted against this because: I could not see the need for this small parcel of land and the member from that District, Mrs, Barrett, assured me that the East side of the Lake should be open and no more money should be spent on the West side. There seems to be sonsidereblea conflict between the Greater Vancouver Regional Hospital District and the British Columbia Medical Centre. The one body is very prefessional and is making decisicns which we are going to have to pay for, especially on the Shaughnessy Hospital site. They wish to put a much heavier density there and also plan to remove all existing buildings within 8 years. The cost to us is around 40 million and this would of course pretty well curtain any other building. Our Advisory Board, who are made up of medical peaple and lay people, are opposed to this strong organization and an attempt must be made to have a meeting to straighten things out. So far, the BCMC have refused a meeting with us and this just cannot possibly be.
