In February we appesled our assessment. The Court pointed
cut that while they were in sympathy with organizations such as
ours, under Bill 71 no reduction in assessment could be made.
However, they did refer us to Sec 202 of the siunicipal Act.

Under Sec. 202 clause (t) and (h) of the iwunicipalact the
Council may grant aid to an organizaticn such as gurs: deemed‘ tobe
contributing to the general interests and advantage to the municip-
ality. oS CO

The increased taxes will create a severe burden on our organ-
ization and if we are forced to sell and cannot relocate we could
possibly join our New Westminster Lodge. we however are reluctant to
even think of any chans¢e-We are proud of our participation in the
affairs of our mommunity. If the Council could see fit to grant us

services and charity work for the betterment of this community.
