March llth, 1974 tion of Cedar Drive between Prairie and Wright Avenues; whereupon Alderman Thompson, with the concurrence of his seconder, Alderman Keryluk, agreed that as it would be more appropriate to install the "timed" parking restric- tions from Wright Avenue to Chelsea Avenue, the original motion should be changed accordingly, and the question was then called on the following mo- tion made in replacement of that previously proposed: "That the No Parking restrictions on Cedar Drive from Wright Avenue to Pinemont Avenue be removed ; AND THAT "No Parking - 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 an. and 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m." signs be installed on the East side of Cedar Drive from Wright Avenue to Chelsea Avenue." Carried. Aldermen Ranger and Laking voted against the resolution. REPORTS: Mayor Campbell From Mayor J.M. Campbell, March 7th, 1974, reporting as the Regional re Reg.District Director for Port Coquitlam, stating his disappointment in the performance of the Greater Vancouver Regional District generally, and mentioning in par- ticular, the parks purchasing policy which makes very much use of expropria- tion - a method of Jand acquisition he is opposed to. Alderman Laking sta- ted he agreed with the remarks contained in the report to a certain extend, commenting that the method of expropriation used is deplorable as people are not even given a price on their property, and that he is dissatisfied with the Regional Parks set-up generally. Alderman Reryluk stated his view that expropriation should be a last resort in acquiring land for essential pur- poses, and that he did not think acquisition for Regional Parks fits into this category. Alderman Mabbett stated his concurrence with the remarks made by the two previous speakers, and proposed the following resolution: Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That a copy of the report from Mayor J.M.
