Jack Talstra, an in- cumbant. was returned to his seat, topping the polls with 1,010 votes, followed by Helmut Giesbrecht, Oo an incumbant, with 775 votes. Alan Soutar upset in- cumbant Doug Mum- ford’s position by taking third place with 656 votes. Mumford lost his seat by coming in fourth with 526 votes. Incumbent Lee Eliis led the polls with 98 votes to win her second term on council, Also elected: incumbent Joe Banyay (852) and in- cumbent Ron Burnett (868). Bernie Gifford failed in his first try for council. Incumbent Joe Banyay retained his seat on regional board with 621 votes, Ellis led Gifford by 340-270 in the Regional board contest. Four candidates competed for three vacant seats on School Board. Elected are: board new-comer Noel Halton (918), Rick Womey (821), Hans Wagner (790).
