6 How do I get ‘ New Party Question is Answered Here a voice in the nomination of a New Party candi- date in af Federal riding? The answer to this question is given here behalf of the B.C. Committee for the New Party. The conditions mentioned here apply only to the interim period prior to the founding convention. After July 3ist, 1961 the answer will be found in the constitution of the New Party. If you are now a member of the CCF, you may exercise the privileges of CCF membership. You share in the selection of a constituency com- mittee which deals with CCF inter- ests in the nomination of a candidate. Trade Union Members If you are a trade union member, and not a mémber of the CCF, you may share in the selection of a con- stituency committee to represent the interests of trade unioriists who reside and vote in the riding. B.C. Federa- tion of Labour should be consulted in regard to the establishment of such committees. Both constituency committees, may, with the sanction of the B.C. Com- ea Gand 1-424, IWA, Prince George. mittee for the New Party, combine to form a “blank” Constituency Com- mittee for the New Party. This joint committee undertakes supervision of arrangemients for the nominating con- vention. New Party Clubs If you are not a member of the CCF or a trade union, you may join with five other persons to form a New Party Club. The conditions of membership and issuance of a charter can be obtained by application to the B.C. Committee for the New Party. New Party Clubs will be given repre- sentation at nominating conventions on a basis to be determined. The B.C. Committee for the New Party is vested with power to issue general rules regarding all such pro- cedures until the founding conven- tion, to avoid confusion, and assure non-interference by outside interests in New Party growth..
