Know ye that we do by these presents proclaim and declare that the week of November 13 to 19, 1994. inclusive, shall be known as "Social Planning Week" in the Province of Foritish Columbia. Whereas the week of November 13 to 19, 1994 has been designated in British Columbia as Drug Awareness Week, and in recognition thereof, communities throughout the Pr ovince are actively participating in this event, and Whereas the extent of alcohol or other drug misuse today contributes siqnificantly to wide-ranging and serious problems for many individuals, families, businesses, and communities; and Whereas it is desirable that governments, at all levels, work cooperatively with community groups to increase public awareness concerning alcohol or other drug misuse, and to support and encourage initiatives to promote healthier lifestyles; Therefore, I Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, do hereby proclaim November 13 to 19, 1994 as Drug Awareness Week in Port Coquitlam.
