Parksite No. 5 is the last of the parks, in the Citadel Heights area, to be developed. This site was identified, in the agreement, to receive $400,000, (in 1986), from Genstar towards a community facility. This dollar figure now represents one million dollars in 1994 funds. Over the past two years, the Parks & Recreation Committee has met on numerous occasions with Genstar, the | Schoolboard and a number of residents from the area to discuss what should be included in the parksite. It became very evident that the need for a major building, on parksite no. 5 was not a requirement from the resident's perspective. The Schoolboard indicated that the City could have the use of rooms in the middle school for programs and community use. ; : The residents identified several features that they would like included in the overall school/park site. These requests are attached to this report. The overall plan for parksite no. 5, parksite no. 3 and the school addresses the concerns of the residents. The Schoolboard indicated, to the City, that they are prepared to permit Genstar to continue parksite no. 5 development to overlap onto school property. PAGE
