THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM BR. Kirk DATE: January 06, 1993 City Administrator J.E. Yip Deputy City Engineer PARKING RESTRICTIONS CHANGED - ROGERS CABLE T.V. 1820 KINGSWAY AVE. (Public Works Committee Meeting - December 15, 1992) RECOMMENDATION: That Council approve the installation of one "15 Minute Parking Only” sign in front of Rogers Cable T.V. at 1820 Kingsway Ave. and amend the existing Bylaw No.1117 to reflect this change. The Public Works Committee considered a memorandum from the Project Technician dated December 9, 1992 regarding a request from the manager of Rogers Cable to change the existing parking in front of their property and the property adjacent to them to be "No Parking Anytime. The reason for this change is that the manager and employees of Rogers feel that there have been accidents outside their business on Kingsway Ave. that are caused by people exiting the lot at Rogers. The people at Rogers feel that vehicles parked on Kingsway Ave. obstruct their view of on-coming traffic. Committee agreed that some restrictions should apply at this location. The Committee approved this request at their December 15, 1992 meeting. A memorandum will be sent to the Operations Manager to request that the sign be installed. It is recommended that this sign be installed to allow clients of Rogers to park in front of this business but to discourage long periods of parking which appear to cause obstructions.
