RIVERFRONT AREA CONTROL PLAN

The City of Port Coquitlam is inviting Expressions of Interest from Consultants
interested in preparing an Area Control Plan for the City’s riverfront.

In recent years, the areas along the Pitt River south of the Lougheed Highway Bridge
have been experiencing increased pressures for development. Port Coquitlam City Council has
adopted a budget and Terms of Reference for a Consultant to prepare an Axzea Control Plan that
will guide future development along the six kilometres of riverfront land.

A variety of land uses on both public and private property currently occupy the
riverfront. The Area Control Plan shall develop policy statements for development, and present
a proposed land use and development concept. Consideration will be given to the type and form
of development appropriate along the riverfront, unique site features or sensitive areas that
should be preserved, and impact of development on adjacent land uses, transportation networks,

and servicing.

The City requests Expressions of Interest from qualified project teams. Written

submissions should include study team members’ qualifications, relevant experience, and
references. In addition, Consultants should provide a one-page statement outlining the team’s
approach to the study. The Terms of Reference for the study are attached. .

A short-list of proponents will be selected and will be invited to submit detailed
proposals.
