City Engineer SUBJECT: Directional Signs at Entrance Points to the City (Public Works/Traffic Committee August 14, 1990) Recommendation: That Council request the Ministry of Transportation and Highways make the following improvements to directional signs at entrance points to the City: 1. Increase the size of the directional board sign south of Pitt River Road on Lougheed Highway; to install a street sign at the corner of Lougheed Highway and Pitt River Road; to install a large street sign for traffic from both directions on Mary Hill Road Bypass, for the intersection with Mary Hill Road; increase the size of the (Entering Port Coquitlam) sign on the Lougheed Highway just west of Westwood; install a directional sign stating (City of Port Coquitlam Business Area) for traffic on the Mary Hill Bypass at the Kingsway intersection. Background & Coaments: The Committee reviewed the attached report which describes the existing directional signs at entrance points to the City and noted improvements to directional signs that were needed.
