Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Ranger expressed
concern regarding access for emergency vehicles and Deputy Fire Chief
J.N. Boileau advised there would not be a problem on a temporary basis.

recommending that the contract for the replacement of the handrailing be
awarded to Abatech Industries.

That as recommended by the Public Works Committee, August 8th, 1980
the contract for the replacement of the handrailing on the pedestrian
footbridge over the Coquitlam River be awarded to Abatech Industries at
a cost of $10,315.76 and that the bill be sent to the Provinelal Secretary's
Department;

SUBJECT to the Engineering Department being satisfied the firm ean
do the job.

Prior to pavsage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Mabbett asked
regarding the finish of the rails and the City Engineer advised it would
be painted as vandalism is controlled better with painting. Alderman
Keryluk asked regarding the price difference in tenders received and the
City Engineer advised he will look inte the lowest bid to see whether
they would be able to do the job.

WHEREAS by By-law No. 1627 of The Corporation of the City of Port
Coquitlam cited as the “Angelo Avenue Plan 41210 Road Closure By-law,
1978, No. 1627" a certain portion of Road therein deseribed located in
the City of Port Coquitlam in the Provinee of British Columbia was
stopped up and closed to traffic;
