RCMP digging deep
into violent crime |

THE RCMP detachment’s
hew commander says the
violent crime rate here is

- higher than it should be.
So Inspector Dave Fen-
‘son is having the violent

crime offences broken down
by category in preparation

for a meeting with commu-
‘nity’ groups here later. this

month.

The - crime. information
_and the meeting are part of

the force’s planning to deter-
mine. where it should focus

“Is it domestic crime? Is

it street violence? Is it drug

violence? That’s what we’re
going to find out,” Fenson

“What we want to do is
hear from a broad spectrum
of the. community to help
identify our. priorities,” he

tant to understand that while

372 in 2003 to 408 in 2004.

tachment here has focussed _
on Narcotics with good re-_

sults.

ATV stolen and tires get slashed -

ANOTHER four-wheeled off-road vehicle
has been taken from a local residence.

A person living along the 3900 block of

- Sande Ave. reported the. theft of a green Po-

laris 500 six-wheel ATV from his property

. sometime during the morning hours of Oct.

block of Sparks St., the 4600 block of Mc-
Connell Ave. and the 2600 block of Eby St.
