Money raised THORNHILL — Ap- proximately 90 stu- dents raised $3000 in the jump rope for heart event that took place on Wednesday, April 30 at the Thornhill Elemen- tary School. Teacher Dighton Haynes and two students who raised the most money, Kim Rempel and Shawn Kofoed, present- ed the B.C. Heart Foun- dation with a cheque for $3000 on Monday, June Students had skipped in teams of up to six for a period of three hours, to raise money for the heart fund. Students from Kit- wanga Elementary Sec- ondary School cele- brated their tenth an- niversary trip to Victoria beginning May 22 and ending May 30, with an added bonus of a three- day pass to Expo ‘86. ‘While in Van- couver,’’ said Dan Boudreault, principal of the school, the students were invited to stay over- night at Osler Elemen- tary School. Boudreault said that the students toured Vic- toria, visiting the Parliament Buildings, Provincial Museum and also the wax museum. “This field trip for the 32 students of Grade 7 was paid through fund raising gifts and dona- tions,’’ added Boudreault.
