THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM (: () 1 N c: MEMORANDUM OCT 6 1980 Mayor and Council — October 6th, 1980. L.D. Pollock, City Administrator Purchase of Vehicle ~ R.C.M.P. Community Liaison Officer Under our agreement with the R.C.M.P. Community Liaison Officer the City is to provide a vehicle. A sum of money was provided in the current years budget to provide either for a purchase or a leas: of such a vehicle. ' Our Purchasing Agent has now received quotations for a number of ‘alternatives in the way of a compact car and has asked for options on leasing versus outright purchase. Although a number of firms were contacted only twa bids were received, one from Kern's Chevrolet for a Malibu four door sedan in the amount of $7,224.00 and the other from Metro Motors for a Fairmont four door sedan in the amount of $6,989.17, both are subject to 4% tax. | Because of the five year term of the contract it would appear that outright purchase is more economical than leasing. The purchase price would be shared with the District of Coquitlam. a I would recommend that we accept the bid of Metro Motors for a 1980 Fairmont 4 door sedan in the amount of $6,989.17 plus 4% tax. _ roa i L.D.
