From the Public Works Committee, May 29th, 1980 regarding the high pressure wash and steam cleaner for the Works Yard and recommending that the replacement of the sanding unit at an estimated cost of $9,000.00 be deleted from the budget and that the steam cleaning unit be purchased in its place. Carried. From the Public Works Committee, May 29th, 1980 advising of the present street sweeping schedule provided in the City. From the Public Works Committee, Nay 29th, 1980 advising receipt of a letter from the Principat of Hazel. Trembath Elementary School regarding speeding and poor visibility at the intersection of Eastern Drive and Paula Place and recommending that signs be installed on Paula Place to prevent parking any time from the corner to 15 m back from the corner on each side. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That as recommended by the Public Works Committee, May 29th, 1980 "No Parking" restrictions be installed at the Intersection of Eastern Drive and Paula Place to prevent parking any time from the corner to 15 m back from the corner on cach side. Carrfled Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Aldermen Ranger and Keryluk commented regarding the type of parking restrictlon required and referred to the use of a yellow curb and "No Parking" signs. Alderman Mabbett expressed concern regarding the Intersection and advised the school would net use student patrols to cross Eastern Drive due to the poor visibility at the Intersectlon, Alderman Ranger stated enforcement of the speed Limit is required and suggested the use of sustained radar surveillance. Mayor Laking advised he will contact the R.C.M.P. regarding enforcement of the speed limit.
