THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C O Uj MEMORANDUM FEB ยง 1979 TO: Mayor and Council February lst, 1979 FROM: Public Works Committee Re: Proposals for Mapping of City On November 20th, 1978, Council approved a report from the Public Works Committee regarding the need for aerial photo- graphy and mapping of the City in order to provide a base map which could be used with a number of overlays in order to reduce the complexity of our records system and greatly improve the efficiency of the Drafting Department. Council authorized the expenditure of $8,000.00 out of 1978 funds with the understanding that the remaining cost for the new Mapping system would be provided in the 1979 Provisional Budget. Proposals have now been received from four firms interested and capabie of doing the required work. Costs for the complete mapping service are as follows: 1. Burnett Resource Surveys Ltd. $29,883.00 2. Integrated Resources Photography Ltd. 37,277.00 3. McElhanney Surveying and Engineering 4 Ltd. 39,955.00 - Pacific Survey Corporation 47,950.00 The lowest quotation from Burnett Resource Surveys Ltd. can be split up into two parts with the survey and aerial photo- graphy as already approved by Council being $3,650.00 and the actual mapping being $26,233.00. Funds are available as follows: $10,000.00 from the 1978 Budget carried forward and $20,000.00 from the 1979 Provisional Budget for a total of $30,000.00 which is sufficient to cover the full cost of the work, Because of the great value of the information which would be received to the operations of the Engineering Department, the Committee recommends that the proposal from Burnett Resource Surveys Ltd. be accepted for the full amount of the work in 1979 and that funds as specified above be used to cover the cost. lly submitted, , .
