Dennis of 3663 3663 Oxford St. : - re 4-way STOP, Oxford Street who then spoke to Council and requested a four-way STOP Lincoln & Oxford oa ae On EERIE sign be installed at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Oxford . Street. The Public Works Committee's October 9th, 1979 report regarding the Four-way ‘Stop at Oxford Street and Lincoln Avenue was brought forward for discussion at this time. Alderman Keryluk commented on the location of the Irvine Elementary School in relation to the intersection of Lincoin Avenue and Oxford Street and advised that the school had a minimal effect on the intersection. Alderman Mabbett spoke in favour of four-way STOP signs. Alderman Laking spoke in favour of a four-way STOP but not of reversal of the present STOP signs as had previously been suggested. Alderman Wright spoke in favour of four-way STOP signs and asked also that signs be posted advising there is a STOP ahead. Alderman Ranger stated in his opinion STOP signs should not be used to control speeding and indicated his opposition to the proposal.
