February 8, 1993/040 A Public Hearing pursuant to Section 956 of the Municipal Act was held prior to the Council Meeting of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, BC on Monday, February 8th, 1993, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Councillors M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, R.H. Talbot, and M.R. Wright were in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk S. Rauh, City Treasurer/Deputy Administrator J.G.S. Maitland, City Engineer IR. Zahynacz, Director of Planning C.R. Felip, Fire Chief J. Baillie, and Deputy Fire Chief G. Routley. PUBLIC HEARING: Mayor Traboulay advised the following proposed Bylaws would now be considered: Bylaw No. 2755 To rezone: Lot 1 Section 6 Township 40 Plan 9752 New Westminster District from RS-3 (Estate Residential) to RS-2 (Small Lot Residential) The property is located at 751 Prairie Avenue and would permit the development of 14 single family lots. Mr. Lloyd Pearson, 3331 Rae Street expressed concerns that if the road goes through it will be used as a short cut from Prairie to Fremont. Mr. R. Billow, 3301 Rae Street asked what the average sized lot in Port Coquitlam is and said he would prefer larger sized family lots rather than RS-2, and that he was opposed to Rae Street going through. Mrs. B. Jonke, 3334 Rae Street was concemed that her property is higher than properties involved in the rezoning and expressed concem that problems would occur when her property drains into these properties. Mr. B. Dhillon, Developer’s Agent answered that they must abide by the minimum flood plain elevations. Mr. Komstead, 3311 Handley Crescent expressed his concern that Rae Street would be used as a short cut to Fremont Street. He also inquired if the ditches on Fremont will be filled in, and if all the trees will be cut down. Mr. Ken Presad, 759 Prairie Street asked if a retaining wall will be built as he has concerns regarding the property elevations. Ms. B. Jonke, 334 Rae Street asked for clarification of where the lane will be situated. The City Planner pointed to the location of the lane on a drawing on the Council Chamber waii.
