Riverwood Area Control Plan

THAT Council adopt the "Riverwood Area Control Plan" report as the guideline
for development of this area of the City.

BACKGROUND:

The Riverwood Area Control Plan has been prepared to establish land use,
servicing and development guidelines for the Riverwood area of Port Coquitlam.

On April 25, 1990, a Public Information Meeting was held to discuss the draft.
Area Control Plan and proposed changes to the Official Community Plan.
Council approved amendments to the Official Community Plan establishing
designations for future land uses within Riverwood on August 13, 1990. The
designation of Riverwood as a Development Permit Area was approved on January
14, 1991,

The North East Sector Compréhensive Development Strategy, which establishes
servicing criteria for the Riverwood area, was adopted by Council on April 8,
1991.

DISCUSSION:

A copy of the final report of the Riverwood Area Control Plan is attached to
this memorandum.

The Area Control Plan ‘complements the Official Community Plan and the North
East Sector Comprehensive Development Strategy in establishing additional
guidelines for the development of the Riverwood area. Approval of this plan
will permit the consideration of subdivision and development permit
applications in this area.
