Approval of the proposed Northeast Sector Development Strategy at this
time will permit the completion and adoption in very short time of the
Riverwood Area Gontrol Plan and may result in development of the Riverwood

area beginning this year.

Completion of the Dominion industrial Lands Area Control Plan, expected by
the middle of this year is also dependent upon information and development.
guidelines contained in the Northeast Sector Development Strategy. .

The strategy document haa been extensively reviewed by staff, the
Northeast Sector Steering Committee, the Riverwood Steering Committee and all
members of Council have had an opportunity to review and discuss the atrategy.

It is, therefore recommended that Council proceed now to formally adopt
the Northeast Sector Development Strategy as the guideline for development of

this area of the City.
