As you will gather from the attached information sheet, triforine shows a very low acute oral LD50 for mammals (rats, mice). If this dosage is related to a 150 15 human, 2 comparable dose of product would be about 2 liters of Funginex. — Before this material was registered for use, it would have been tested for short and long. term health hazzards and approved by Health and Welfare Canada. Testing of triforine and like materials is very time consuming, and costly, but is considered necessary by Health and Welfare Canada before registration for use is granted. . AS you well know, blueberry production in the Fraser Valley would likely be reduced to a sub-economic level, if triforine was nec available for the control of mummy berry disease. , As wet soil conditions during April prohibit the use of ground operated spray rigs in most blueberry plantings, aerial spraying is the only effective application method at this time. .
