Re: Resignations, Planning Director and
Assistant Engineer.

I convey to Council,attached to this memo, resig-
nations from Lanson Lee, Planning Director, ané Lorrence (Mel)
Melnechenko, Assistant City Engineer.

Lanson has been with the City since May of 1974
and has guided the City through a period of considerable resi-
dential and commercial grewth. Lansons patience with developers
and flair for architecture have combined to produce good
development throughout the City and these qualities will be
difficult to replace. ;

Mel started with the City in January of 1976 ana
has been in charge of the design section of the engineering
.department. Mel has developed the reputation for being firm,
but fair and has earned the respect of developers involved
in the many subdivisions and City projects carried out ‘during
these years. .

Mel and Lanson will be joining forces ina private
consulting business and.I would like to wish them every success.
