XI ot [Mount Elizebeth Secondary School this year will qualify for a. schol- arship for further study at univer- sity which can total $2,000,” Mr. H. Gwyn, manager of Kitimat ‘works, announced last week. “This scholarship will be sponsored by Alcan’s operations in the Kitimat- Kemano area,” Mr. Gwyn sald. The scholarship will be appor- tioned equally over a 4year uni- versity course at the rate of $500 per year, provided that satisfac- tory grades are obtained each year, If the student, on entering university, selects a S:year course, the $2,000 will be apportioned in equal annual grants over the 5- year period. The award of the scholarship will be made solely on the basig of the highest scholastic standing as determined by regulations for provincial scholarships, No re- strictions will be placed on the award ofsthis scholarship in so far as the student’s choice of faculty or university is concerned. Mr, J. Green, president of the Kitimat Scholarship Assoctation, expressed the thanks and appreci- ation of this association which has been very active in securing fin- ancial support for students who plan to attend institutions of high- er learning.
