That The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitiam express
their concern to Mr. Don Hehn, Regional Director, Provincia!
Ministry of Environment regarding permission having been granted

to certain persons to dispose of silt in the Coquitlam River and
inquire whether this is a usual procedure. ;

Alderman Gates expressed concern regarding the reported delay
in the opening of the Eagle Ridge Hospital.

WHEREAS it has been reported that the opening of the Eagle
Ridge Hospital! has. been postponed until next fall;

WHEREAS since the passing of the referendum in District 43 in
1972 there have been many and varied postponements and delays in
bringing the Eagle Ridge Hospital on line;

AND WHEREAS there is a great concern among our citizens about
yet a further delay in the opening of the hospital until next fal |
and possibly later;

NOW THEREFORE the Council of the City of Port Coquitiam
register a strong concern about the announced delay of opening of
the Eagle Ridge Hospital and urge Premier Bennett and his Cabinet
to reconsider and open Eagle Ridge Hospital, with an emergency
admitting service, as scheduled in March, 1984,
