November 10th, 1975 Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the recommendation of the Community Development Committee as set forth in a report from the City Administrator, November 6th, 1975, that the proposal of Record Chemical Co. Western Ltd., to locate an industrial plant at 1651 Kingsway Avenue, be accepted for further consideration so that the company can proceed with more detailed plans and details of the project for Council consideration, be approved. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution, a discussion ensued and Alderman Ranger expressed concern that if a lesser use of the M-2 land is allowed, one day the M-2 land will be gone, as we have a limited amount of M-2 land suitable along the CP tracks and questioned whether this would be the right thing to do from a taxation and a usage point of view; however, Alderman Laking pointed out that much of the M-l land has sold at a higher price than the M-2 and the assessment on it is greater than some of the M~2. Alderman Keryluk suggested that some investigation be carried out with respect to the pollution aspect, and the following motion was then proposed: Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the foregoing proposed resolution be amended by adding the following words as the end thereof: "contingent upon a satisfactory report being received from the Simon Fraser Health Unit."
