April 21st, 1975 Dailly, Minister of Education, suggesting that the centre for such a revised campus should be located in Port Coquitlam; however, Alderman Laking suggested that the proposed motion be held in abeyance until a copy of the report concerning the Douglas College expansion can be obtained, and to this Alderman Keryluk agreed. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That a letter be sent to The Honourable Eileen Dailly, Minister of Education, requesting that a copy cf the study undertaken with respect to the proposed expansion of the Douglas College be made available to the City of Port Coquitlam. Carried. Alderman Mabbett referred to his attendance at the Lower Mainland Parks Advisory Association meeting when the subject of trail bikes was discussed, and he stated his concern that such a use was being considered for a section of the PoCo Trail. Alderman Traboulay gave notice of a motion he wished to make next week for discussion and possible resolution on the City Administrator's report prepared in 1974 concerning citizen participation in civic affairs. Alderman Traboulay again referred to the installation of sidewalk let~downs at Coast Meridian Road and Prairie Avenue for the convenience of people in wheel chairs or with baby prams, etc., and Alderman Ranger advised that the work would be commenced shortly. Alderman Traboulay stated that the "No Parking" section on Prairie Avenue West of Coast Meridian Road is causing a problem due to lack of sufficient advance notice of the regulation for motorists using the right-hand turn lane slot. Alderman Traboulay referred to the May Day Parade, and expressed his concern that senior citizens in Hawthorne Lodge and Hawthorne Manor, particularly those who are bed-ridden, would not be able to see it, and inquired whether the Council would be willing to investigate the possibility of having these people transported to an area in front of the City Hall. Mr. Lee Kallen, May Day Co-ordinator suggested that local service clubs May agree to assist in this matter.
