Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That with respect to a directive from the Assessment Commissioner's | Office to commence work on revaluing property in the City on the basis of 100% of 1973 market values, no move be made at the present time pending clarification on the 100% assessment increase. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing proposed resolution, _a discussion ensued, and Alderman Laking pointed out that the directive from the Assessment Commissioner's Office is an order and that the Commissioner has the power to ensure it is carried out. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the foregoing proposed resolution concerning a directive from the Assessment Commissioner's Office tc commence work on revaluing property in. the City on the basis of 100% of 1973 market values, be tabled for one week, Carried. Lorimer, Minister of Municipal Affairs, pointing out the fact that tie Province will now be con- - tributing to municipalities costs in excess of a 3-mili levy providing sew- age treatment and trunk line facilities under the provisions of the Municipal Sewage Treatment Plant Assistance Act will be of little use to the City of - Port Coquitlan; AND THAT a copy of the letter be sent to Alderman C.J. Blair, Chairman, Water & Sewer Committee, Greater Vancouver Regional District. Carried.
