-paragraph of his letter advising that the City should retain, any data pro~.

cessing records pertaining to the 1974 Roll, and that it appears. to him the
assessment rules might be changed again before the 1975 Rollivis produced;
however, there are so many inequities in the present system it is imperative
to work toward. restoring equity for the 1975 Roll and stating his hope that
legislation will follow that will enable this to be brought about. |

A discussion ensued, and Mayor Campbell stated he felt the matter should
be referred to a special Committee of the ¥.B.C.M. looking into assessments.

Seconded by Alderman Mabbett:

That with respect to a directive from the Assessment Commissioner's |

Office to commence work on revaluing property in the City on the basis of

100% of 1973 market values, no move be made at the present time pending

clarification on the 100% assessment increase.

Prior to the question being called on the foregoing proposed resolution,

_a discussion ensued, and Alderman Laking pointed out that the directive from

the Assessment Commissioner's Office is an order and that the Commissioner

has the power to ensure it is carried out.

That the foregoing proposed resolution concerning a directive from the
Assessment Commissioner's Office tc commence work on revaluing property in.
the City on the basis of 100% of 1973 market values, be tabled for one week,

That a letter be sent to The Honourable J.G. Lorimer, Minister of
Municipal Affairs, pointing out the fact that tie Province will now be con- -
tributing to municipalities costs in excess of a 3-mili levy providing sew-

age treatment and trunk line facilities under the provisions of the Municipal

Sewage Treatment Plant Assistance Act will be of little use to the City of -

Port Coquitlan;

AND THAT a copy of the letter be sent to Alderman C.J. Blair, Chairman,
Water & Sewer Committee, Greater Vancouver Regional District. Carried.

has requested that the Council be apprised of his desire to, attend the

British Columbia Library Association Conference being held in Richmond on.
