"| Genuine Amber i Jewelery from the Baltic Sea Still waiting on new buses TRANSIT OFFICIALS in Terrace are still waiting for two new buses that will replace the existing fleet. Two British-made Dennis Darts were supposed to roll out onto local routes in late August to coincide with a route expansion here, But a shipping delay and the fact that BC Transit is in the middle of a major fleet upgrade pushed the arrival date back to late October. Now Jerry Peltier, manager of the company that oper- ates the Terrace Regional Transit System, has been told the new buses aren’t ready for the road. Peltier said the British-made-Dennis Darts have a problem with their climate control systems that affects their heating and air conditioning units. BC Transit’s maintenance contractor is now fixing the new buses, including the two bound for Terrace. “Until they can resolve this problem and get a fix, our buses will sit in Vancouver,” Peltier said. He's been told to expect them later in Decernber, “It would be a nice Christmas present,” he added. ‘ t Regional reps picked MAYOR JACK Talstra and councillor Rich McDaniel have been re-elected to represent the city on the board of the Kitimat-Stikine regional district.
