New kind of tourist visits here

guest-book at the tourist
information centre is like
reading a price listing for
long distance calling.

So staff at the tourist
information centre are per-
plexed that for the third
conseculive year, visitors
for the month of June. are
down.

“I’m not sure what the
reason is,” said Vicki Cor-

watchdog body

THE FOREST Practices Board has issued a damn-
ing report condemning the province for poor forest-
Ty practices in the clearing of a power line right-of-
way to the Kemess South mine site north and to
the east of here.

Three provincial ministries now face a deadline

of massive environmental violations of the Forest
Practices Cade near Williston Lake.
